Ideas for first birthday present?...? - little red wagon birthday invitations

I am thinking of spending about $ 100 for the first birthday of my son.
It is only 8 months, so I take some time. I like to plan the future. :)

I think we decided on one of these Little People Playsets, which is around 45.00.
Other ideas? I want him to have a small red car, but because it is the anniversary in November do not think it would be a great gift for the winter.
I think my mother is given another Cabbage Patch dolls, so it is excluded. A website or something unique is welcome! :)
